You always want what you can’t have — especially when it comes to beauty products. Because if everyone’s buying it, you know it’s got to be good. The warm weather on the horizon has us reaching for lighter and more refreshing products. This can mean switching from liquid foundation to tinted sunscreen, or opting for a simple pop of blush in lieu of a full face of contour.
We've found the same pre-summer swapping applies to our fragrances — and although it's still frigid in NYC, we're already preparing to stow our warm and spicy winter scents to make room for something a little airier.
Luckily, the beauty industry often welcomes spring by launching dozens of lively, crisp perfumes. Case in point: One of our favorite new launches — Jo Malone's Herb Garden collection — has us excited for concerts in the park and alfresco dinners in the coming months.
For further proof, we looked to retailer Bluemercury, which has noticed that its consumers are opting for perfumes of the greener, fresher persuasion as of late. In fact, Jo Malone's Nasturtium & Clover Cologne (part of the aforementioned collection) is already selling out on the site. Why all the hype? The fragrance in question smells like walking through a field of freshly cut grass on a sunny (but not too sunny) day. Think crisp and earthy with a touch of sweetness.
Although this fragrance only hit stores last month, we're already calling it our signature summer scent. Now, we know you're itching to grab a bottle ASAP, but if the stock is wiped clean before you can commit, fret not, for we have listed five other freshly scented options we know you'll love, too.

For the past few months, this has been our senior beauty editor Megan Cahn's go-to scent. It's inspired by the west coast of Ireland (often referred to as "the bitter end"), and has notes of wild grass, mint, fig, and thyme.

This perfume has notes of bitter orange, cardamom, basilic clover absolute, violet leaves, Tunisian neroli, patchouli moss, and musk. The combination of earthy tones is light enough for warm weather, and makes for a refreshing pick-me-up with just a touch of alluring spiciness.
