The White House Correspondents' Dinner (fondly known as Nerd Prom) is in full swing. All the big reporters and celebrities have just sat down for the dinner — and while they eat, the comic prowess of Twitter is in full swing.
The infamous dinner is known for its hefty serving of traditional presidential humor. This year, social media is getting in on the act, too. For those of us playing along at home, Twitter is already providing the jokes, since there's more than an hour to go until the actual speeches. In the room, some of the journalists have got great jokes, too.
From ragging on C-SPAN for camera failings to making some...interesting hypothesizing about the music choices for the night, Twitter is not holding back. Go ahead, read through. We promise, the jokes won't stop coming.
Best thing about #WHCD, it raises money for scholarships for journalism students. Worst thing: trying to get a cab when it's over.

Can someone please tell @cspan to white balance their camera so I can watch the #WHCD instead of a #SmurfConvention.

It'd be pretty baller if the Marine Corps Band started playing "Rains of Castamere" right now.#WHCD #GOT #NerdPromhttps://t.co/jEEfd4Lm5K

They only get to call it #nerdprom if they spend weeks orchestrating elaborate promposal videos to invite their colleagues

Got to welcome @abbijacobson & @ilazer when they rolled into town for #WHCD today. (Happy to hear they think @Reuters is "legit.")

@CBSNews subtitled the White House #NerdProm as "Obama's Last Laugh." I mean, isn't that 2016 overall?

The flowers are much better this year. #NerdProm
