Is anything better than plugging in your headphones, firing up your music app of choice, and jamming out to that brand-new song you're obsessed with?

Don't get me wrong; I love my go-to playlists. The classics are great. But something amazing happens when I hear an awesome new track for the first time. I am filled with anticipation, enthusiasm, and pure bliss as I wonder to myself, Will the chorus be as good as the hook? or Wait — did I just discover my new favorite artist?!?!

New music is one of the best mood-boosters ever to me, and I want to share it with you. So each week, I'm pulling together the most popular (as in, they have over 100K listens within the first few days of their release) and most exciting new music out there for you to turn on, tune in, drop out to.

Let's get listening. If you have any new pieces of musical gold, leave a link in the comments below. And be sure to check next Friday for a whole new slew of songs.

"Up&Up" — Coldplay

A typical feel good song from Coldplay. The music video is also a mixture of awe-inspiring nature shots, and nostalgic home footage. It might not be your new favorite song, but it's a great one to get work done to, or relax to on a long drive.

Who are they?

You definitely know Coldplay! And if you think you don't like them, then read about why you just admit you love Coldplay.

"Life Itself" — Animal Collective

A song about finding your freedom and happiness, whether you're still living in your mom's basement or just desperate for Friday's happy hour. The energetic beat will get you there.

Who are they?

If you aren't familiar with Animal Collective, they should at least be on your radar since Beyoncé sampled them in "6 Inch" on Lemonade. The band was formed in 2003, and considers their sound to be experimental pop. And experimental it is, indeed.

"Don't You Cry For Me" — Cobi

A pleasant combination of electronic beats, and soulful folk vocals. It sounds like a whole new song halfway through, but it's awesome.

Who is he?

Cobi sounds like a mixture of Bastille and Hozier. He's got a similar look, too.

"I Need A Forest Fire" — James Blake feat. Bon Iver

Even though it sounds like they're saying "avocado" throughout the song, it's a beautiful melody and chorus. James Blake and Bon Iver performing together is an indie music lovers dream. Blake's album, which this song is featured on, is currently #1 on the Top Dance/ Electronic Albums chart.

Who are they?

James Blake is a 27-year-old English electronic music producer, singer, and song writer. Justin Vernon is the singer and face of the indie rock band Bon Iver, that you may best know for "Skinny Love."

"Toothbrush" — DNCE

This song's all about a guy letting a girl leave her toothbrush at his place. Basically: taking their relationship to the next level.

Who are they?

The eclectic and fun-loving group features singer Joe Jonas (also the frontman of the video,) JinJoo Lee on guitar, Cole Whittle on bass, and Jack Lawless on guitar.

"Unforgettable" — Sia

Sia's latest single will be the feature song of Finding Dory, the highly-anticipated Finding Nemo sequel. It samples the Nat King Cole romantic classic of the same name.

Who is she?

The Australian singer and songwriter has been singing since the 1990s. She's since rose to mainstream popularity within the last few years, most memorable for her distinctive wigs, and music videos featuring child dancer Maddie Ziegler.
