Typically, when we use the phrase "celebrities, they're just like us," we're mostly kidding. But food seems to be the great equalizer. Celebs are constantly talking about and being photographed eating our favorite food group: pizza. Their pizza preferences, which range from normal to completely wacky, are making us hungry for a slice. Ahead, check out nine beloved superstars and their orders, habits, and a few flat-out goofy moments of chowing down on a savory pie or two.
Jennifer Lawrence
We already love J Lawr for her constant, unabashed honesty. And we love her even more for her pizza prowess. The star talks about her pie preferences pretty frequently, but it was a recent "invention" of sorts that has us bowing down to the queen of the slice sandwich.
Yep, that's right, Lawrence likes to eat her pie with chili and noodles. "It's called a chili pizza sandwich. You have a piece of pizza, you put chili in it, Southern chili, with noodles, and then another piece of pizza, and then you eat it like a sandwich. And I was completely sober [when I invented this], totally sober," Lawrence told Glamour in a video.
Chrissy Teigen
Model Chrissy Teigen is doing pregnancy cravings right. She told fans that her baby-related eats include a new habit — pizza for breakfast. (We've totally been there.) "I have come to realize that at some point in the day, I will order pizza so it might as well be in the morning," she tweeted.
Beyoncé
Queen Bey's latest food revelation is that she carries around hot sauce in her purse, which is pretty much the best idea ever. So when it comes to pizza, it's no surprise she also likes her slices on the spicy side. She told Beat Magazine that she prefers, "extra tomato sauce and jalapeños."
Her order preference started a bit of friendly drama with her S.O., Jay Z, who is a Brooklyn pizza purist. "She's from Houston, first of all. They don't have pizza there. That explains everything,"he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Kate Middleton
Our favorite Duchess might very well win the prize for best pizza order of all time. It's rumored that after she gave birth to Prince George, the new mom ordered a couple of pies right to her room in the hospital. We're definitely making a mental note of that push present of sorts. She and Prince William also ordered pizza from Serafina on a past trip to NYC, topped with meat — prosciutto and sausage to be exact.
Miley Cyrus
When she's not spending time trying to #FreeTheNipple, you can pretty much bet Miley Cyrus is either eating or wearing pizza. Entire articles have been dedicated to her social media focus on the subject. But our personal favorite anecdote is when she ordered a cheese pizza that ended up being so large, she fit in the actual box. We think it's safe to say that Cyrus probably loves the cheesy, saucy goodness even more than we do. Oh, and let's not forget that time she celebrated her birthday with a pizza cake.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrowgets a lot of flack for her dietary choices, especially the lengths she goes to to eat healthy, no matter the cost. One thing we can't fault her for, however, is her personal outdoor pizza oven. Sure, it's seems very Goop of her to prefer slices straight from her own custom (and probably outrageously expensive) kitchen. But let's be honest, if we had unlimited funds, a restaurant-style brick oven would probably seem like a brilliant idea. "We've got a wood-burning pizza oven in the garden — a luxury, I know, but it's one of the best investments I've ever made," she famously explained in her cookbook.
Amy Schumer & Jennifer Lawrence
Yes, we've already mentioned J Lawr's sandwich preferences, but she loves pizza so much, she gets a second spot on our list alongside her pal Amy Schumer. Not only does Schumer have a whole comedy sketch titled in honor of the subject, but she and Lawrence shared their affinity for a hotter slice (specifically with pepperoni, jalapeños, and a side of ranch dressing) with Vogue. The pie they ordered during the interview turned out to be a snack, because the champs also had dinner reservations later that evening.
Kendall Jenner & Khloé Kardashian
For the Kardashian-Jenners, eating pizza is all about the company, which is fair enough, although we eat a lot of slices solo, too. The last thing we'd expect from a Victoria's Secret model and newly anointed workout queen is for them to chow down on pizza. But more power to them, because the Kardashian-Jenner girls still know how to indulge. The duo is clearly partial to the classic Margarita pie and will apparently never outgrow the need for a good old-fashioned "pizza party."
Aziz Ansari
If you've watched Master of None, you know Aziz Ansari is a major foodie. But he's also a well-versed home cook. Who needs to order pizza when you can make it yourself? If you check out his Instagram feed, you'll see that he makes a lot of impressive-looking meals, like the slice featured here, which he apparently whipped up for a light Thanksgiving lunch this year. That is the true definition of pizza love right there. We want to head to Ansari's house for Turkey Day apps next year!
