Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kanye West was a lavish Italian affair filled with their closest friends and family. But there was one person who was noticeably missing: Rob Kardashian.
In the latest issue of People, Kardashian opens up about why he decided to skip his sister's wedding in 2014, chalking it up to his own insecurities.
"I was doing my suit fittings in Paris right before the wedding and I just wasn't comfortable," Kardashian said.
He said that at the airport on his way to the wedding there were a lot of camera and he was "very unhappy with the person I saw in all the pictures." Now, he admits he's upset he missed "my sister's wedding but it was a personal decision."
One that he say had to do with his need to hide from the cameras, from his family, from everyone. "I'm very good at disappearing," he said.
Feeling uncomfortable with himself was also the reason why he would choose to skip out on family trips and occasions.
"I didn't want my family to see me that way," he says. "[Khloe and I] butt heads about it. She's all about, 'your biggest revenge is your body,' and I'm trying to find happiness in my own way."
Kardashian told People he's become less of a recluse in the last few years. He's working hard to mend his relationship with his family and to appreciate himself more.
"There were definitely dark days for me, and I'm still not fully happy looking at myself in the mirror," he said. "But I'm working towards that. And I'm happy."
