For plenty of people on Halloween, your costume is more about what you've got on your body (or how little you've got on your body — are we right?). But for those who love us some glitter and face paint, the holiday is all about pushing the envelope with our beauty looks, and All Hallow's Eve is prime time for us to show off our skills.
So this year, we decided to bring out the big guns. Working with makeup artist Michael Anthony, who is king of fanciful, artsy, "damn-can-you-believe-he-did-that?" looks, we dreamt up a quartet of beauty ideas that will blow your mind. The best part? No crazy clothing required.

Rockabilly Bride of Frankenstein
If the most infamous monster's wifey were updated for 2k15, what would she look like? Well, we like to think she'd be a whiskey-swilling rockabilly chick with teased-up hair and some killer moody lipstick. And Frank? Lead singer of a heavy-metal band, obviously.
So Anthony painted a killer cat eye with penciled-on brows that will rival your grandmother's. This isn't Elsa Lanchester's version of the Bride. Homegirl's got some edge.

First, Anthony blocked out our model Stazy's brows with white MAC Pro Chroma Cake before painting on a dramatic eyeliner shape. (For a similar effect, try the brand's Cream Colour Base.) "Just make sure to have makeup remover and Q-tips on standby," Anthony advises. "Even us pros need to have a clean-up crew!"
Next, blend a large eyeshadow shape using a deep crimson or purple, and add a white eyeliner to the inside edge of the eye. The white should extend over the lid and along the lower lash line to really make your eyes pop. Draw on pencil-thin brows in inky black, and define your cheekbones by applying a dark plum blush as a contour.

After you've drawn on your brows, add your spooky spider detail. "You can place it wherever you want," Anthony says. To finish, overdraw your lips so that you have two high peaks at the Cupid's bow — you can use an ultra-deep lip liner shade with a sharp point. Finish with a bloody red lip. Anthony suggests OCC Lip Tar in Black Dhalia.

"This costume looks awesome with a shredded outfit, and will get you into any Halloween party," Anthony says. And long after Halloween is over, we're going to be trying that lip in real life.

Futuristic Galaxy Gal
You're already a star — so why not make yourself a galaxy? The beauty of this look is that it's super-high-impact but requires very little skill. "Start by taking a trip to a drugstore, Target, Sephora — anywhere you can find stickers and glitter!" Anthony says. From there, it's just a few easy steps. And you can be out the door in 10 minutes flat.

Start by prepping your skin with your favorite foundation and concealer. Then, grab a few pots of glitter and apply it over your eyes, down your nose, and across your cheeks. "It may help to have some reference images of a nebula or a solar system to give you a shape to follow," Anthony says. "Think solar colors like blue, fuchsia, orange, and gold."
Next, grab some standard gold star stickers (like the ones you'd get on your tests in elementary school) and start placing them around the glitter. You can use a tweezer to help control where they go. "Use different sizes from tiny to large so it looks like outer space," Anthony says. You can also add some stick-on facial gemstones for good measure.

To finish, add loads of mascara to the top and bottom lashes. Then, conceal your lips, add a little lip gloss, and press on some chunky glitter. Don't worry about the glitter being in a perfect lip shape. The more haphazard, the better.

Manga Harley Quinn
With the release of Suicide Squad coming up, we're sure that we'll be seeing swarms of Harley Quinns running around. But if you want to stand out from the crowd, why not give your costume a toned-down, Manga-girl twist? We're talking huge ponytails, a gemstone heart, and satin-pink lips to complement the mucked-up-on-purpose makeup.

Start with a cream color blush or shadow — one in pink and one in purple. Use your fingers to apply onto the eyes, and don't be neat about it — Harley's makeup is seriously smudged up. Line around your eyes with black liquid eyeliner, and continue to smudge.
And here's a pro tip: "A few drops of Visine in your eyes helps everything to run and smear down your cheeks," he says. To add to the sassy vibe, take a heart-shaped gemstone and pop it onto your cheek.

To finalize it, simply swipe on a pinky lip shade in a satin finish. And if you're not into dyeing your actual hair in a pastel hue, pick up some extensions and use some spray-in hair color to get a similar result.

Raver Queen Of Hearts
Someone's been painting your roses red. But when you've got a rainbow of colors on your face, who cares? We love this modern-day take on the Queen of Hearts — one who you're more likely to find at a Brooklyn rave than on the croquet field. If you've got a thing for glitter, buckle up. You're about to tap into your inner queenie.

First things first — draw your heart. "You can draw it right side up, upside down, over one eye…whatever your heart desires," Anthony says. To sketch, he used MAC's eyebrow pencil in Lingering because it's light enough to disappear but dark enough to be a great guideline.

Next, go wild with your glitter. Start by painting a makeup primer inside the heart to help your sparkle stick. Anthony used a mix of Martha Stewart glitters in a kind of ombré effect. Press it into the primer, or have a friend sprinkle it onto your face while you lay down. "Make sure to have some tape handy for any glitter that strays," Anthony says. "It's the best way to pick it up where you don't want it!"
Finally, layer on a ton of mascara, such as Maybelline The Falsies Pump Up the Drama. Conceal your lips to help the heart pop, and you're done!
