Split-heart necklaces, matching outfits , the number-one slot in your MySpace Top 8 — there are plenty of ways to show your loyalty to your best bud. Nothing is a more permanent declaration, though, than a tattoo. After all, nothing screams BFFL (best friends for life) quite like getting IFL (inked for life).
We've rounded up a host of celebs who clearly agree. Some of the tattoos are on the sentimental side; others are more humorous — but each is a testament to lasting friendship. Curious to see which stars have gone under the gun for their besties? Click through the slides ahead to find out. Who knows? It might just inspire you and your best pal to follow suit.
Nick & Joe Jonas
Sometimes, your best friend is your blood brother or sister. Hours before this year's VMAs, brothers Nick and Joe Jonas visited a tattoo parlor.

Delevingne and Osbourne, both known for their affinity for tattoos, decided to make their friendship official in a permanent way.

The cast of Suicide Squad had such a fun time filming together that they decided not only to get matching tattoos — but to tattoo each other.

Hilary Duff and Walking Dead star Alanna Masterson have been besties for a long time. In 2014, they decided to get tatted together by ink legend Dr. Woo .

Although Jenner's sister Kim has warned her against getting inked, Jenner decided to go ahead and do it anyway with Hailey Baldwin.
The two models got teeny-tiny broken hearts etched onto their fingers in white (Jenner) and red (Baldwin) ink. But why broken? Jenner already has a heart on her right hand. "The one on my right hand is a full heart to represent an angel, and my left is a broken heart — kind of like the devil side," Jenner wrote in a post on her website.

After the death of her beloved dog Floyd, Cyrus and her best friends — Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips and his partner Katy Weaver — got matching tattoos in her pup's honor.
The cameo tattoos feature Floyd's profile in the middle, surrounded by script that reads, "With a little help from my fwendz."
Ariana Grande
Grande didn't get her tattoo with her best friend — but she got it with her in mind, so we had to give her an honorable mention.
The songstress had the letter "A" etched onto her thumb as a tribute to her best friend, Alexa, who shares her first initial.

Kelly Osbourne isn't the only star with whom Cara Delevingne has gotten inked. She's also gone under the needle with fellow model Jourdan Dunn.
