Some of the items these artists work with are already chilling in our makeup drawers, but others just made their grand debuts during NYFW. (In many cases, these products won't hit shelves until months later — and in some cases, they never will.) Those are the ones that both catch and hold our attention.
Ahead, we give you a sneak peek at the coolest new beauty buys we spotted backstage this season. You might have to wait a while to get your hands on them, but that'll just give you plenty of time to save up your dollar bills.

Without fail, Maybelline launches are some of the most anticipated of the year. And this season is no exception. At Derek Lam, makeup genius Tom Pecheux used the brand's Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick (launching this June) to bring the focus to the models' cheekbones. The darker side was created for all your contouring needs, while the lighter half is for highlighting.
Plus, the unique shape follows the curve of your face for swift and effortless application. Never has the Kardashian-driven contouring trend been easier to re-create — nor has it been this compact.

Contouring not your thing? Maybe strobing is. Maybelline took on the viral trend by also introducing the new Master Strobe Illuminating Face Stick (launching in June). The product was swiped on the high points of the face at shows like DKNY, Opening Ceremony, and Derek Lam for the ultimate glow factor.

Fashion Week saw a clear uptick in models wearing their natural texture down the catwalk (finally, amiright?). "It's all about natural movement and allowing the hair to have its own personality,"celebrity hairstylist and R+Co cofounder Garren says backstage at Anna Sui.
Garren scrunched R+Co's new Twister primer (out in March) through naturally curly strands to define coils while eliminating frizz.

He worked the new Pinstripe detangling spray (also out in March) through naturally straight hair to break up strands, add more texture, and encourage natural movement.

We can't wait to get our hands on a tube of these red, pink, and nude Shiseido lippies come fall 2016. Though the look at Narciso Rodriguez was focused on the eyes, makeup artist Dick Page had them on display backstage for the prettiest eye candy we ever did see.

The double-duty Quik Trik Stick MAC products (coming in fall 2016) were used at both Cushnie et Ochs and Prabal Gurung. Tight and Tawny, the Champagne-and-bronze-toned one on the left, was used at Cushnie to highlight the noses and cheekbones (models with fair skin got the Champagne color, while those with darker skin wore the bronze-y shade).
At Prabal, Here You Go — the plum/rosy stick — offered a slight romantic flush.

The futuristic icicle nails at Opening Ceremony were made possible with China Glaze's new chrome polish, out in March. The killer design is further proof that nail art is alive and well.

"The idea behind the hair is about something that once was, but is no longer," Anthony Turner, lead stylist for John Masters Organics, says about the look at Prabal Gurung this season. "So the hair was once very perfect, but now, because she’s been lost in the forest, it’s become weathered and more worn." (Don't you just hate that?)
He achieved this purposely imperfect style with the help of the brand's new hairspray and volumizing foam, both out in March.

While we didn't necessarily spot these with our own eyes during NYFW, we did peep them on Peter Philips' Instagram page (he serves as the creative director of Dior makeup) and they pretty much stopped us in our tracks.
It's completely unexpected for the brand, and we wonder if we'll see these brightly colored lippies make their way from the lab to the runway when Paris Fashion Week rolls around. Stay tuned.
