Jennifer Aniston Still Has Clothes From Friends

Friends will forever be in our hearts (and our Netflix queues). And if you're Jennifer Aniston, Friends will forever be in your closet.

"I have certain things I have yet to throw away from my days on Friends," Aniston recently admitted in an interview with Vogue.

What relics of Rachel Green did the actress hold onto, exactly? Turns out, she squirreled away a few items that just might be worth digging out of storage given the seemingly unstoppable '90s fashion renaissance of late.

"My red squared-toe loafers might actually be making a comeback, that’s awesome," she told the magazine. "See, it’s coming back — I knew it. I also have those nice high-waisted jeans. I’m so glad I didn’t throw any of those out. I loved the ’90s."

We do, too
, Jen. We do, too.

What It's Like To Be An Adult Virgin, According To Science

New research published in The Journal of Sex Research has some disappointing news for a specific, sexual minority among us. Researchers found that most people don't find adult virgins sexually desirable — including adult virgins themselves.

Related: What I Learned From 10 Years Of One-Night Stands

For the paper, the researchers conducted a total of three studies, each based on a questionnaire of different groups of heterosexual men and women. The first study's questionnaire asked 560 men and women when they first had vaginal intercourse and whether they believe a stigma exists around people who lack sexual experience. The second study (which consisted of 4,934 people) asked if the participants would consider dating a virgin, and the third, with 353 participants, specifically looked into how young (between 18 and 26 years old) people view sexual inexperience.

The first study's findings backed up what we assumed to be true anyway — there aren't a ton of adult virgins out there: 90% of participants between the ages of 22 and 24 were sexually experienced. Then, in the second study, the researchers found that most people reported a low likelihood that they'd date a virgin. Interestingly, those who were sexually inexperienced were even less likely to consider dating someone who was also a virgin. However, the third study's findings, luckily, were less disappointing for virgins — among young people, the sexually inexperienced were more likely to find equally inexperienced people more attractive.

Related: How Do Your Sex Numbers Compare?

One important thing to note about these studies is that the researchers did not look into why people were waiting to have sex, or even why they felt they couldn't date someone with zero experience with this particular form of sexual activity. Certainly, there's more to sex in general than just vaginal intercourse, and there are plenty of reasons to abstain or wait, even among heterosexuals.

So, as hard as it is not to wonder if you're "normal" when it comes to sex, what really matters is that you make your own choices with your health, comfort, and pleasure in mind.

LAPD Say Knife Found On Former O.J. Simpson Estate Is Not Murder Weapon

Update: The Los Angeles Police Department have confirmed that the knife found on O.J. Simpson's former estate is not the murder weapon used to kill his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, CBS News reports. Police Capt. Andy Neiman told the press that the knife was ruled out after a forensic investigation. The knife used in the attacks to kill the pair has, to date, still not been discovered.

Update, March 4, 11:30 p.m. EST: The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that it is in possession of a knife found buried on O.J. Simpson's former estate.

"Within the last month, LAPD became aware of an item that was allegedly recovered by a citizen," Captain Andrew Neiman announced in a press conference Friday morning. Neiman backed up TMZ reportage that the knife was given to a former police officer by a construction worker who found the weapon on Simpson's Brentwood estate. He also confirmed that the knife is being investigated and examined for forensic evidence.

The names of the officer who allegedly held on to the knife for years as well as the construction worker who originally found it have not been released. And while Neiman himself noted that the knife origin story could still be "bogus," he affirmed that police are treating the discovery "as we would all evidence." Refinery29 will continue to update this story as it progresses.

This story was originally published on March 4, 2016, at 11:30 a.m.

The decades-old O.J. Simpson trial has been captivating audiences anew through American Crime Story this year. But the fictionalized version of the iconic murders and subsequent court case has also stirred up the dust in real life — and could potentially lead to a breakthrough.

Early Friday, TMZ reported that a knife was found on the football star's former estate. A construction worker reportedly recovered the folding buck knife, buried along the perimeter of the property, "years ago," while the house was being torn down. The construction worker allegedly handed the knife off to an LAPD officer. TMZ sources claim that the policeman, who was off-duty at the time, took the knife home — and kept its existence a secret for years.

In January of this year (perhaps coinciding with the buzz about the FX series?), that P.O. reached out to a friend in the homicide division and asked for the departmental record number for the Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman case.

Why? Because he reportedly intended to hang the knife and engrave the case number on the frame. The homicide officer shared that information with his superiors; ultimately, the knife was turned over to the LAPD. TMZ law enforcement sources shared that the weapon is being tested for hair and fingerprints by the Robbery Homicide Division, and will undergo tests for biological markers — including serology — this coming week. Sources also reported that the knife looks as though it was once bloodied, though tests will be needed to confirm that observation.

Refinery29 has reached out to Marcia Clark, the prosecutor on the Simpson case during the high-profile trial, for comment. At the time of publishing, a response had not yet been received.

Meet Halsey, Pop Music's New Beauty Icon

In an era when wigs have lost their taboo and neon hair color is worn by even the most unexpected stars, there's no denying that it's tough to stand out. However, this rainbow of options makes the journey to "find your look" a captivating one, especially when the person happens to work in pop music.

Enter Halsey, the 21-year-old American pop singer-songwriter who has arrived on the scene just in time to throw the industry a (beauty) curveball. In her short career, she's tried more hair colors and lengths than most of us could dream of, only to shave her head for reasons you may not expect (but more on that later).

Not that she needed the attention: Her debut album, Badlands, has already hit gold. She has millions of devoted fans, and she's in the middle of a nationwide tour. (Oh, and there have been Justin Bieber moments along the way, too.)

Her beauty transformation, which you'll see ahead, is punctuated by an even-more-unusual collaboration with MAC: a limited-edition grey (yes, grey) lipstick that just launched this week as part of their Future Forward collection. Not surprisingly, she mixed the shade herself, but not in the lab. "I did it with acrylic paints, and I sent them a swatch board of all the colors," she told us. "I don’t think they were expecting me to be that involved. They were like, 'Oh wow, you were really excited about this.'" And that she is: "I fucking love makeup," she says, which is why this project had to bring more than just a pretty color to the table.

"I wanted to do something that's an easy step to trying something daring," Halsey told us. "And something androgynous, because makeup has become such a broad thing that is appreciated by all genders. It’s not a gay thing, it’s not a straight thing, it’s not a girl thing, it’s not a boy thing." But it's even more than that: "The way we present ourselves and the way we look really does have a big effect on our state of mind and our personality. That’s why I change my hair so much," she explains. "I definitely have different personalities with different hairstyles, so I hope that whatever personality this lipstick gives people is a really confident, badass one."

Ahead, we documented more than a dozen of the star's best beauty moments, narrated by the musician herself.

Warning: The sudden urge to take a risk may occur.

SiriusXM Studios, May 2014

"This was from my first radio visit, ever. I think I was 18 years old in this picture. Everything is just bad! I think I got this dress at Marshalls. I was super broke; that was the one leather jacket I owned. I was really nervous — it was my first time being on the radio, on the first radio station that ever played my music."

Selfie, August 2014

"This was during the four days I had purple hair. I only kept it for a few days because it was such a pain in the ass — purple fades so quickly. This is the first time my last boyfriend, who produced my album, ever talked to me. I posted this picture and he tweeted me and said, ‘You look really pretty,’ or something like that. We ended up dating for, like, two years."

Selfie, September 2014

"This is all my real hair! It was a very different time in my life! This was when I shot the first 'Ghost' video [ed. note: second, and totally different version, here], right when I signed my first record deal. This was inspired by Chloe Sevigny in Gummo, when she wears the tiger bathing suit with the white shorts — we drew a lot of inspiration from that."

Selfie, November 2014

"Oh my gosh, this was the bubblegum-pink hair. I had this one for a while. These are really big lashes — I miss those. I used to wear really big lashes, and in this picture, I’m wearing circle lenses. I wore them a whole three times in my life. They’re Japanese contact lenses that make your eyes look anime, [because] they make your [irises look] bigger."

Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta, May 2015

"This is one of my favorite hairstyles I’ve ever had. It was a blue shoulder-length bob that was yellow on the side, from shooting my album cover. But nobody could know that is what my hair was going to look like, so I had to buy blue eyeshadow and color on the side of my hair myself. You just kind of brush it in."

Boston Calling Music Festival, May 2015

"This was a wig, and when I started wearing blue lipstick — this is what inspired the [MAC shade]. This was a cool day. I had a septum piercing— I look like a punk rock Marilyn Monroe."

Billboard Hot 100 Festival, August 2015

"This is a wig, and I hadn't been wearing wigs for a while. Then I just randomly decided to wear this one. I cut it myself, the bangs and the length! This was a scary day because I forgot I was wearing a wig and I did a lot of backbends, but it stayed on and looked so cool in the pictures — I got really lucky [it didn't fly off]!"

MTV Video Music Awards, August 2015

"This is when I had the sides of my head shaved tight, and my dye job was awful. My roots are really bad, it’s growing out [here]. This is also the first red carpet that I ever did — ever! I was so nervous, there were so many flashing cameras in my face. I was panicking. I didn’t know how to pose, I didn’t know what to do, everyone is screaming [on the red carpet], and I didn’t think anyone was going to know who I was. As I’m walking out, I’m thinking they’re going to be like, ‘Who the hell is this girl?’ Then I walk out and all of a sudden, like 40 [photographers] start going 'Halsey! Halsey!' I was panicked, but I think I kept my cool."

KOKO Music Festival in London, September 2015

"This is one of the coolest hairstyles I’ve ever had — this is my Badlands hair. I got this done at Bleach, which is this really cool salon in London — I think this is Lou Teasdale’s company. She’s famous for being One Direction’s stylist. We did the pastel pink and the blue on top — it’s ombré, and it looks like my album cover. This was my first London show, too, so having this kind of iconic hair for me was a moment."

Museum Of Modern Art Film Benefit, November 2015

"Every time I see this picture I want to go back to blonde — every. single. time…This is my favorite look from the past year. The stylists gave me these Daisy Buchanan finger waves from the '20s, this really bright pink lip, and they brought my eyes out a lot with this bold brow. That necklace had its own security guard. He followed me around to make sure I didn’t break it, or leave!"

NBC's Today Show Performance, November 2015

"This was a bad day in hair history — this was the day that Justin Bieber and I looked like twins, which is a time in my life I don’t want to relive [laughs]. He had to wear a hat, or it would have looked like Justin Bieber was trying to make out with Justin Bieber on the Today show. This was right before I shaved my head because it was so dead from bleaching it. This was a very cold day. Also, a last minute day. We didn’t rehearse at all — we had never sung the song together before. We got on stage on live television like, ‘Let’s go!’ It was really scary."

Selfie, December 2015

"When I shaved my head, one of the reasons I did it was because of all the reasons I didn’t want to do it. They were really shitty reasons, things like, ‘Will this boy still think I’m pretty?’ One day I was like, ‘All of the reasons that I don’t want to shave my head are not for me. I want to shave my head, so I should do it.' It was a scary moment for me. I could have walked around like a girl who knew her head was shaved, wondering if people were looking at me because my head was shaved, or dressing because everyone is looking at my head, [but I didn't]. A lot of people say, ‘You can have any hair color,’ or, ‘You can wear anything,’ but it’s because I carry myself like I can. I never let anything wear me…Look in the mirror, know that you look good, and go."

Chanel Show During Paris Fashion Week, March 2016

"This is one of my least favorite hairstyles I have ever had…I was feeling a little helmet-y. I like the retro vibe, though. This is a graphic look that was inspired by the '70s, kind of a Twiggy-inspired look, an Edie look. I have never done something like this before. I change my hair a lot, but I’m pretty boring with my makeup. I normally do lashes and a brown/nude lip. I am trying to branch out this year. I’ve been buying dresses, which is weird for me!"

Third Suspect Arrested In Foiled Terrorist Plot Following Attack In Brussels

Update: A third man has been charged in connection to terrorist activities related to a foiled plot, according to Reuters.

The man, a Belgian national identified as Y.A., was arrested on Thursday and charged on Saturday with participating in the activities of a terrorist group in connection with a foiled attack on Paris.

Two other men, identified by Belgian authorities as Rabah N. and Abderamane A, have also been charged in connection to the planned attack. The alleged plot was uncovered after police found weapons at the home of Reda Kriket, who was arrested outside of Paris on March 24, two days after terrorist attacks in Brussels left 32 people dead. The BBC reported that a Paris prosecutor said that an act of “extreme violence” had likely been prevented.

Sarah Abdeslam, one of the alleged ringleaders of November’s terrorist attack on Paris, has also said that he voluntarily chose not to blow himself up, according to The Guardian. Abdeslam, the only surviving suspect in the November 13 attack that killed 130, was arrested in Brussels on March 18. Abdeslam told investigators after his arrest that he was meant to carry out a suicide bombing at the Stade de France, but his brother, Mohamed Abdeslam, said Friday that he chose not to follow through. Abdeslam told his brother from prison that, “If [he] wanted, there would have been more victims.” Abdeslam is currently held in northern Belgium while he awaits extradition to France.

Update, March 27, 2016, 10a.m. EDT:
NBC News reports that Stephanie Shults, wife of previously confirmed dead American Justin Shults, has also been confirmed dead. Her death was also announced on Twitter by Jason's brother, Levi Sutton.

Update, March 26, 2016, 4:20 p.m. EDT: Justin Shults, the American man who had been missing since Tuesday's attacks in Brussels, is confirmed dead, NBC News reports. The confirmation came from his brother, Levi Sutton, on Twitter. Justin, 30, was last seen in the Brussels airport with his wife Stephanie, 29, waving goodbye to his mother-in-law, who was catching a flight at the airport when the attacks began. Stephanie is still missing. Her mother, Carolyn Moore, was not injured in the attacks.

Update, March 26, 2016, 12:10 p.m. EST: A suspect has been charged in connection to Tuesday’s attack on Brussels, according to the BBC.

The man, identified by prosecutors as Fayçal C., was arrested on March 24 and charged Saturday with “participation in the activities of a terrorist group, terrorist murders and attempted terrorist murders". Fayçal C, identified by Le Monde as Fayçal Cheffou, is the first suspect to be charged in the attacks.

Two other men, identified as Rabah N. and Aboubakar A., have also been charged with terrorist activities in Belgium, though they have not officially been connected to Tuesday’s attacks.

A spokesman for the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office, Eric Van der Sijpt, told The New York Times that authorities are trying to determine whether Cheffou is the third airport bomber caught in surveillance video of the moments before the attack. A search of Cheffou’s home did not find any explosives or weapons.

Update, March 25, 2016:
At least two people from the United States are confirmed dead in this week's terror attacks in Brussels, the Associated Press reports.

"United States is praying and grieving with you for the loved ones of those cruelly taken from us, including Americans, and for the many who were injured in these despicable attacks," Secretary of State John Kerry said in Brussels on Friday.

NBC News identified the victims as Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski, two siblings from New York. Family members confirmed that the brother and sister, Dutch nationals who were living in New York, died in the attacks, according to the AP. An American couple also remains missing following the blasts, according to family members.

Update, March 23, 2016:
Authorities have identified two of the suicide bombers involved in Tuesday's attacks as Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui, brothers who are Belgian nationals, the BBC reports. One suspect is believed to be on the run.

Ed. note: This is a breaking news story and will continue to be updated as additional information comes in. It was originally published at 6:05 a.m.

Brussels has been hit by multiple explosions this morning, resulting in dozens of fatalities and hundreds of injuries across Belgium's capital city, according to a Belgian security official. Two explosions occurred at Zaventem Airport this morning, according to multiple reports. A third blast went off at a metro station in the suburb of Maalbeek.

The Islamic State group, also known as ISIS or ISIL, claimed responsibility for the attacks, the Associated Press reports.

"This is a dark moment for our nation. We need calm and solidarity," Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said, according to AP. "We know that there are many dead, many injured."

At least 34 people are believed to be dead following the explosions, according to the AP. At least 250 more are reported injured. Several Americans were injured in the attacks, including three Mormon missionaries and an American service member and his family, NBC News reported.

Adelma Marina Tapia Ruiz, 37, is the first victim of the attacks to be identified, The Guardian reports. Tapia Ruiz was at the Brussels airport with her Belgian husband, Christophe Delcambe, and their twin four-year-old daughters Maureen and Alondra, when the explosions took place. Originally from Peru, Tapia Ruiz had lived in Brussels for six years. One of her daughters was reportedly wounded by flying debris from the explosions.

The Jet Airways crew member wounded in the blasts, whose picture has abounded on front pages and social media, has been identified as Nidhi Chaphekar, according to The Guardian. Eleven were killed at Brussels airport and 20 at Maelbeek metro station

It is also alleged that Belgian intelligence officials had been aware of the threat of attacks in the capital, raising the question as to why security forces were unable to protect key areas like the city's airport.

Witnesses from both sites described terrifying and chaotic scenes.

"A lot of people were in panic. I saw a lot of blood, a lot of people were injured. People were crying, on the floor, covered by parts of the roofing. I saw a lot of leg injuries, a lot of people couldn't move anymore," Jef Versele, who was at the airport at the time of the explosion, told NBC News. "There were quite a lot of people injured. In the departure hall — you saw people storming out, it was like run for your life."

The explosions have left the city on lockdown. The airport has been evacuated, with flights suspended. Eurostar has also suspended services to and from Brussels Midi. The metro has all been shut down, with Michel asking citizens to "avoid any movement."

The explosions come days after Salah Abdeslam, a key suspect in the November terror attacks in Paris, was captured in Brussels. Officials were warned of additional terror plots after that raid, saying that Abdeslam had been planning to "restart something" in the city, NBC News reported at the time.

Following the news of the Brussels attacks Tuesday, France's interior minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, announced that France will deploy 1,600 new police officers along the country's borders and at transportation hubs, The New York Times reports. The Eiffel Tower will also be lit with Belgium's national colors on Tuesday, in solidarity with Brussels.

President Barack Obama, speaking in Cuba Tuesday morning, condemned the attacks and said "we will do whatever it takes to support our friends and allies in bringing to justice those who are responsible."

“This is yet another reminder that the world must unite, we must be together, regardless of nationality or race or faith in fighting against the scourge of terrorism,” he said. “We can and will defeat those who threaten the safety and security of people all around the world.”

30 Looks That Mean Adele — & Her Style — Is Back In Action

Adele needs no introduction. We all know who she is (she's Adele), where she comes from (the other siiiide), and what she's about (soundtracks to our Sunday Scaries and the occasional swear word). But today, we need to give credit where credit is due: Has anyone else noticed her style comeback? Her days of all-black-all-the-time are in the past; now, it's all about jewel tones.

Jewel tones are a great way for someone — yes, even you — to ease more color into a wardrobe. And Adele's done a pretty good job so far, by way of rich blue and magenta hues from designers such as Burberry and Giambattista Valli. Ahead, we're looking at her days of "19" all the way up to "21." But more important than the outfits is a greater message: Adele (and her style) are back and saying Hello. (Sorry, we couldn't help it.)

For when you want to show some shoulder but make sure not to get too cold, just try a slit.

We're being totally serious when we say this: Miss Frizzle, you need this dress in your life.

We haven't seen a horseshoe neckline like that in a while. This Giambattista Valli number is just the refresher we needed.

Because singing next to a piano in front of millions of people calls for a gown that sweeps the floor. Sorry, it just does.

"Oh! Those old things? Those are just me tassels!" she shouts at the paparazzi as she makes her way to her next appearance.

A trending songstress in a trending skate shoe — something about this is just too perfect.

This runway-inspired Burberry ensemble makes jewel tones a desirable color palette for any weather.

"Here, take this. It's Céline.”

Maybe her arms were just really, really cold.

Adele bundled up is all of us.

Blavy always wins. Always.

All black everyth...oh wait, those shoes are maroon.

Okay, now we can say it: all-black everything.

Hello, festival style.

Here, we have Adele peacocking in a peacock-inspired dress. Too meta?

We wonder how many hands it took to sew those beads on. And then we wonder where we can get our hands on one.

We're still confused as to why she didn't win a Grammy for this Valentino Couture number. But we guess Best Pop Solo Performance will suffice.

Something in her face tells us she knew how chic she looked that night.

Remember when this dress sparked rumors of a Burberry x Adele clothing line? Us neither, but we're into that embroidery.

Perfection. Just sparkly perfection.

Another black dress, but this time, with a touch of lace to keep things amicable.

Tie-dye for the win.

Think of those bits of extra fabric as culottes for your elbows. (Sometimes elbows need a little breathing room, too.)

Hair pulled back, smoky eye — Adele is about to set fire to the rain.

Throwing it back to the Victorian era, we see.

An outfit perfect for a night at the ballet, or, you know, VH1 Divas Live.

Nowadays, seeing Adele in earrings that long is like seeing a teacher outside of school.

Looks like black has been her good luck charm since the beginning. Makes sense.

And sometimes, when you don't have a lapel, a brooch can serve as a great centerpiece.

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman have filed for divorce. The couple confirmed their split in a press statement released Saturday, Peoplereports.

"Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family," Barrymore and Kopelman explained in their statement. "Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on."

The actress and art consultant married in June 2012 and have two children together: Olive, 3 years old, and Frankie, 1.

"Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority," their media statement continued. It did not indicate where the pair will live or any other details about the separation.

Barrymore posted Instagram photos of a new tattoo, featuring Olive and Frankie's names on her right wrist, on Friday.

This Making A Murderer Attorney Is Coming Back To TV

If the promise of an upcoming tour isn’t enough to get your fix of Making A Murderer defense attorney Dean Strang, well, good news is on the horizon. He is filming a new series focused on the American justice system.

Deadline reports that Strang will be leading a new docuseries called Dean Strang: Road To Justice. Despite the title, it’s not the next installment of the Mad Max franchise, but that doesn’t mean Strang won’t be fighting the powers that be. The eight-episode miniseries will focus on legal cases that demonstrate flaws in the legal system, similar to the way that Making a Murderer highlighted how Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey were put at a disadvantage in their cases. The series will be filmed in an observational style that Deadline compared to Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown.

There’s no network associated with the show yet, so there's no telling where or when it will air. That's a shame, because this is the stuff binge-watching dreams are made of. Hopefully, Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon are on the network shopping list for this documentary series.

Chipotle Is Testing A Cocktail Menu, Including Non-Alcoholic Options

Chipotle is working on a new way to win back customers: cocktails!

The restaurant, which currently serves hard liquor only in the form of a Patrón or Sauza margarita, is working with sommelier and distiller Richard Betts to test out a newly expanded cocktail menu at a lone Colorado location, reports Denver alt-weekly Westword.

Betts told Westword that the new cocktail menu, which features a new margarita, sangria, draft beer, and several soft drinks, was developed with the idea of offering "beverages with integrity" and tries to incorporate lower-impact packaging and healthier, organic ingredients.

The new margarita is frozen and made with Sombra Mezcal from Oaxaca (Bett's own label, with a smoky flavor that he says pair wells with Chipotle's burrito fillings). The draft beer is a Vienna-style Mexican lager brewed by Colorado-based Oskar Blues, while the sangria comes ready-made in kegs from California company Eppa Sangria. For those who don't want to get tipsy with their takeout, the new menu will also include a non-alcoholic watermelon agua fresca, a hibiscus tea with rooibos and lemongrass, a new iced tea formulation from In Pursuit of Tea, and new fountain drinks in the form of Coke Life and Blue Sky sodas.

The new cocktail menu will be available exclusively at Chipotle's Denver location on Sixth and Broadway this summer and no set timeline is currently in place to take the cocktails elsewhere. The rest of us will just have to wait.

Beauty Addicts Share Their Favorite Makeup Organizers

When my plethora of lipsticks and gossamer falsies are finally in place after a good organizing session, it's like slipping in the final piece of a 1,000-piece puzzle. The process is relaxing, even addicting — though mostly, it's time-consuming and a little frustrating. In the end, though, seeing my makeup laid out by color, shape, and type always feels (and looks) incredible. There just has to be an easier way to get there.

To help solve our beauty puzzle, we tapped six influencers with followers in the millions — and makeup collections to match — to give us a little guidance. When your job is to try out every new mascara that hits the market, you have to have some sort of magic filing system, right? Ahead, social media stars share their go-to makeup-storage devices. Get ready, because you're going to want to snag these, ASAP.

Leigh Ann, @leighannsays
Houston-based YouTuber Leigh Ann of LeighAnnSays mixes makeup and humor in an absolutely delightful way. Not only does she share honest product reviews and makeup tips with her 700,000+ followers, but her sassy spirit is the perfect pick-me-up anytime we're due for a laugh.

"I am not what you'd call an organized person...on any level. However, bringing in two Alex drawer units from Ikea has been one of the best efforts I've made to contain the madness of my makeup collection. These units seem to be a standard in the beauty community, and for good reason.

"They come in different shapes, but I like my shorties on wheels because the drawers are all shallow and I can't be trusted to avoid over-piling products into deep drawers. They're also huge, easy to move around, relatively affordable, and convenient."

Ikea Alex Drawer Unit On Casters, $199, available at Ikea.

Maryam Maquillage, @maryamnyc
Maryam, of Maryam Maquillage, is what we like to call a winged-liner expert. Her Instagram and YouTube channel (which have followings in the hundreds of thousands) are full of incredible tutorials on both natural and glam looks. They'll definitely inspire you to pick up some glitter and experiment with new techniques.

"Simple, straight-to-the-point acrylic cases for storing flatter objects such as liquid lipsticks, glosses, and/or palettes. [These drawers] received the most screenshots in my makeup-organization story on my Snapchat, MaryamNYC."

Muji Acrylic 5-Case Drawers, $38, available at Muji.

"[These are] perfect for decorating your shelves with some of your favorite lipsticks. I use these for my higher-end lipstick collections or those in pretty packaging."

The Container Store Acrylic Lipstick Risers, $7.99, available at The Container Store.

"[This is] great for traditional makeup brushes, as well as dual-ended ones."

The Container Store 4-Section Acrylic Cosmetic Organizer, $17.99, available at The Container Store.

"I have three of these...for storing my immediate, go-to products: foundations, primers, powders, setting sprays, as well as my favorite eyeshadow products, palettes..."

Ikea Alex Drawer Unit, $79, available at Ikea.

"Perfect for the ultimate makeup junkie for storing your cosmetic backups as well as any non-makeup products like jewelry, sunglasses, nail-art tools, [and] hair extensions."

Ikea Alex Drawer Unit with 9 Drawers, $129, available at Ikea.

"By far, my favorite drawer divider. This organizer can be cut to fit into any of Ikea's drawers, but I love it specifically for the shorter, wider Alex drawers (on casters). I use it specifically for organizing products in rounded packages that tend to roll around (gel liners, glitters, etc.). These dividers are made out of rubber, so they also prevent your stuff from getting shuffled around while you open or close the drawers."

Ikea Summera Drawer Insert, $7.50, available at Ikea.

The vivacious makeup artist, YouTuber, and Instagrammer is poised to hit one million subscribers on the video-sharing site in the coming weeks, and recently launched an extremely successful collaboration with Sephora's Formula X nail-polish line.

"[I love this] for traveling with a bajillion freaking brushes. I used to have three canisters for my brushes, but now I just have one big-ass one. Literally, I have like 50 brushes; it holds everything."

Morphe
Mega Brush Tubby Case, $19.99, available at Morphe Brushes.

Manal Shaikh, @wakeupandmakeup
Manal Shaikh, the tour de force behind the #WakeUpAndMakeup sharing platform on Instagram, which has almost 10 million followers, is a nail-art pro and social media maven (obviously). Now, she's also the proud cofounder of eyelash brand Eyeris Beauty (launching April 3).

"I would consider the twirling lipstick stand the ultimate lip-product organizer. It allows you to find the lip color you're searching for with just a twirl (the full-360 turn), as opposed to finding products from a drawer, which can get messy and frustrating. It also allows you to store up to 116 lipsticks, and can fit both round and square lip gloss [and] lipstick bottles."

Juvia's Place Twirling Lipstick Stand, $64.99, available at Juvia's Place.

"The Helmer drawers are small filing cabinets from Ikea that are small enough to tuck under your desk. They are great for storing your nail polishes [because they will stay at a] cool temperature. [This will] maintain their formula and keep them from drying out or getting goopy. They manage to fit up to 100 bottles per drawer."

Ikea Helmer Unit, $39.99, available at Ikea.

"The Impressions Vanity Hollywood Glamour Vanity Mirror is the must-have makeup mirror and the perfect decor piece to glam up your bedroom or makeup space."

Impressions Vanity Hollywood Glamour XL Vanity Mirror, $349, available at Impressions Vanity.

Nura Afia, @nuralailalov
We are no strangers to Nura Afia here at Refinery29. The YouTuber is a voice for Muslim women in the beauty industry, as well as a makeup maven. Plus, if you watch her videos or Snapchat story, you might catch a glimpse of her hilarious lip-sync sessions.

"I just recently bought the Algot frame with drawers for extra storage for my makeup. I was really drawn to these because you can switch between the two sizes of baskets in one frame...I really love that I can see through them. They're also super-easy to clean and way cheaper than the popular Alex drawers. They tend to go on sale as well — I've seen them go on sale twice!"

Ikea Algot Frame, $44.99, available at Ikea.

Laura Gurrola,@laurag_143
Gurrola, who at any given moment is toting around a cool 2 million followers in her pocket, is not only an influential beauty guru on Instagram and a wedding planner, but also has her own line of quick-drying nail polishes.

"I use CosmoCube. I like that you can see through it and that way it’s easy to figure out where your stuff is. The one I have is six drawers, and some of them have different dividers and you can customize them. So if there are four rows in there, and you want two because you’re putting in compacts instead of lip gloss, you can adjust it. It’s big enough to where it fits a lot of stuff, but it’s small enough where it fits on your vanity or a desk or dresser."

CosmoCube Posh Makeup Organizer, $185, available at Sephora.

Bella Heathcote's hair was dyed about 50 shades darker for her upcoming role in the 50 Shades of Grey sequel. The Australian actress, whose casting was announced in February, took over the film's Instagram account, offering behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, including her character makeover.

To play Christian Grey's unstable ex, Leila Williams, Heathcote traded in her perky blonde bob for cascading brunette locks. Her costume also mirrors our weekend uniform of a black motorcycle jacket over a gray tee.

Making her first appearance in 50 Shades Darker, Williams suffers from her breakup with Christian Grey and the submissive lifestyle. Desperately trying to arrest Grey's broody attentions, she acts out and, meanwhile, bonds with leading lady Anastasia Steele.

We'll spare the rest of the specifics at the risk of spoiling the kinky drama.

As for Heathcote's hair, Instagram reveals she won't be rocking Williams' extensions off-screen.

Her Insta takeover also confirms that Jamie Dornan is straight-up adorable when he's not suppressing his feelings in the Red Room.

Can someone tell us what this thing does? 😂 On set with @jamiedornan #hilarious #FiftyShadesDarker - @bellalheathcote

Christian Grey fans still have a long time to wait before seeing Williams and her emotional baggage on the big screen. 50 Shades Darker hits theaters in February 2017.

Ruby Rose Instagrams Inspiring Message About Depression

Actress and androgynous style icon Ruby Rose is having one hell of a good run these days. Catapulting into the spotlight after her breakout turn in Orange Is the New Black, the Australian stunner is starring in the spring campaign for Ralph Lauren's Denim & Supply, is the newest spokesperson for Urban Decay, and will soon hit the big screen (with bold jade-green hair) in the new reboot of the xXx film series.

But things haven't always been so amazing for the talented Aussie. Rose has struggled with depression in the past; back in 2013, she bravely opened up about her depression on Twitter after canceling a series of tour dates to take care of herself. Three years later, to the day, a fan reminded Rose of her past postings concerning her struggles and Rose did something remarkable: She took the opportunity to repost her past tweet on Instagram alongside a powerful message of hope.

A fan just tweeted this to me.. 3 years ago to the day. What a wake up call.. I'd be lying if I didn't say it shook me up..to see it.. To be reminded.. This feeling, this moment.. When I posted this in relation to abruptly leaving Australia cancelling a string of shows and commitments.. I had hit a rock bottom.. I couldn't find happiness anywhere except my dogs face and even that wasn't enough. I thought I had failed at being a human being an adult. I didn't know what to do so I left for America to work with trauma therapists and I spent pretty much all the money I had made in my life on an overpriced rehab and a lot of therapy. ( There are definitely other ways to do it ) ... I slept on a blow up mattress when I got my first apartment in Santa Monica, I adopted a dog before I furnished my place 😑 .. My dog, Ru, had a bed before me... I don't want to ramble on, I'm just feeling reflective because I chose to fight and I thought it meant I'd be able to live. I DIDNT think it meant I'd be able to live my dream. I DIDNT think it would result in this extraordinary life I get to be a part of now... It just makes me wonder how many others are days, hours, seconds away from realizing their worth.. Their potential.. And once the dark cloud is lifted will be truly happy and free.. #wealldeservetobehere #wealldeservetobehappy

"A fan just tweeted this to me," Rose wrote. "What a wake-up call...I'd be lying if I didn't say it shook me up." Admitting that she had "hit a rock bottom" and "didn't know what to do" when she originally penned the tweet, Rose expressed amazement at where she'd ended up. "I'm just feeling reflective because I chose to fight and I thought it meant I'd be able to live. I DIDNT think it meant I'd be able to live my dream. I DIDNT think it would result in this extraordinary life I get to be a part of now. [sic]"

And for those struggling with depression, Rose writes, "It just makes me wonder how many others are days, hours, seconds away from realizing their worth."

Rose shared her message of hope and gratitude after depression on Twitter as well, reminding her followers that no matter how one may feel, we all deserve a little happiness — an important reminder for anyone battling depression or anxiety.

Man Charged With Killing His Son For Being Gay

A Los Angeles man has been charged with murdering his son for being gay, according to the Associated Press.

Shehada Issa, 69, was charged with one count of premeditated murder as a hate crime after he allegedly shot his 29-year-old son outside of the family’s home on March 29. Issa told police that he had fatally shot his son, Amir, in self defense after finding his wife dead inside the house. There is an ongoing investigation into the death of Mrs. Issa.

Issa had previously threatened his son over his sexual orientation. Neighbors told The Daily News that father and son could frequently be heard yelling at each other. In addition, Homicide Detective John Doerbecker told the publication that after his arrest, Issa had made “incriminating statements implicating himself” in Amir's death.

LGBTQ individuals are at high risk of hate crimes. The FBI’s annual Hate Crimes Statistics report found that in 2014, 20.4% — or just over 1,100 — hate crimes were based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Since 2009, sexual orientation and gender identity have been a protected class under federal hate crime legislation, when President Obama signed The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. However, according to Human Rights Campaign, 15 states still do not recognize sexual orientation or gender identity as a protected group under state legislation. California’s legislation does recognize LGBTQ individuals as a protected group.

Issa is being held without bail until his arraignment on April 11. He faces life in prison if convicted.

I Suctioned My Face For Better Skin

Winters-Abbie_ISuctionedMyFaceForBetterSkin_20150324-02

I’m pushing 30 — a milestone that I’m at ease with in terms of my career and social life, but not 100% prepared for when it comes to my skin. That’s not because fine lines freak me out (well, not completely), but as so many "anti-aging" treatments do. These days, wrinkle-fighters don’t just come in a jar — they're in the form of infrared lasers, injections, needle rollers, and high-tech gadgets. Knowing which ones to invest in, or, run like hell from, can be intimidating.

That said, one at-home device recently piqued my interest, primarily because it claims to diminish signs of aging quickly and painlessly — two things I can totally get behind (did I mention my pain threshold hasn’t caught up with my age?).

It’s called the Conture Skin Enhancing System and it basically behaves like a miniature vacuum. As you run the device along your face and neck — there’s even a “mild” setting for your delicate eye area — it suctions up and releases skin, stimulating blood flow and “exercising” muscles in order to produce a brighter, firmer appearance. Think of it as a workout for your face.

These days, wrinkle-fighters don’t just come in a jar... Knowing which ones to invest in, or, run like hell from, can be intimidating.

“If you go to the gym and work with a trainer, you target different muscle groups,” explains Conture R&D scientist, John Tedeschi. “[This device] focuses on another part of the body that needs to be exercised." Meaning, all of that manipulation can help depuff, debloat, and even tone droopy areas.

Unlike a sweaty session on the elliptical, however, this tool is pretty effortless and user-friendly. It looks a bit like a hairdryer, and charges through a USB that you plug into your computer. I test-drove it for the recommended period of 30 days, and noticed that my skin was plump, glowing, and noticeably brighter almost right away. Granted, my few, new wrinkles aren’t deep or pronounced enough yet to provide an accurate picture of how it affected them (if at all), but there was something viscerally satisfying about the feel and the sound of the suction against my skin. This is progress, I thought. This is doing something.

To make sure my enthusiasm wasn’t entirely misplaced, I spoke with New York dermatologist Julie Russak about the benefits (real or imagined) of skin suctioning. She conceded that all of that tugging and pulling does indeed increase blood flow and can certainly bestow a healthy glow — albeit a temporary one.

But New York dermatologist Neal Schultz, creator of BeautyRx and host of DermTV.com, had more cautionary words, noting that overuse may result in “premature failure of elastic fibers,” which could cause laxity, rather than firmness, of the skin. The solution? Stick to the recommended twice-daily use, and don’t go overboard.

In all honesty, I’ve never found a product that instantly brightens my skin the way this one does...

Then again, not going overboard is the tricky part. In all honesty, I’ve never found a product that instantly brightens my skin the way this one does (I discovered that it also helps lotions, serums, and creams absorb better, resulting in an even healthier flush). My devotion is so complete that I recently dragged my Conture through airport security (earning some weird looks and extra inspections in the process). But it was worth the hassle. The combination of travel and sun sucked the life out of my skin; the Conture plumped it right back up again. Fire with fire, you know?

Now, is the device right for you? That partly depends on how much you're willing to drop on a gadget that pulls on your face like a pocket-size Dyson (the Conture costs a cool $249, online). But, if you're interested in taking a proactive approach to anti-aging without a major commitment, the Conture seems like a safe, easy, and satisfying way to go.

Personally, I'm more than happy to tell my fine lines to suck it, for now.

Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System, $249, available at Conture.

Chris Hemsworth Gives Dramatic Reading Of "Work"

Via BBC Radio 1 on YouTube.

Chris Hemsworth is a talent to be reckoned with, as he proved on BBC Radio 1 with a dramatic performance of one of the great art pieces of our time: Rihanna’s "Work."

“Ahem. Work, work, work work work,” he began, pausing to allow the words to sink in. “He said me hafi work, work, work work work.” Hemsworth seemed to get a little emotional as he took a breath before the next line, “He see me, do me.”

It’s a testament to Hemsworth that he really seems to find some emotion behind the lyrics, bringing the resonance of the words to the surface as he performs. The potential disadvantage of his Australian accent, so different from the Barbadian patois that the song is performed in, transforms the lyrics. No longer are they locked into being the stuff of pop dreams, his rich baritone turns them into an actor's delight.

“Wow,” said host Nick Grimshaw when Hemsworth finished. “It was like I was at the Globe watching Shakespeare.”

“It drummed up a whole lot of feelings,” Hemsworth responded. “Makes you just want to get to work.”

Ashton Kutcher Tweets His Apology To A Music Legend For His Dirty Joke

Ashton Kutcher has a way with words. Shania Twain's words, to be precise.

On Friday, Kutcher used the country legend's own lyrics to apologize for off-color jokes at her expense during the premiere episode of his new Netflix comedy, The Ranch, Entertainment Tonight reports. In the show, which he also produces, Kutcher plays Colt Bennett, a prodigal son who returns to his family's ranch after fumbling his semi-professional football career in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

As a result, Canadian one-liners were aplenty — a couple at Twain's expense.

During one scene, Kutcher's character recounts sliding "balls head first into Miss Shania" and later revealing his "Twain" to her. Although what prompted the joke remains unknown, Kutcher later offered the singer an apology, cleverly using lyrics from one of her hits to sweeten his mea culpa.

First, he paid homage with a throwback to her 1997 hit, "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"

Twain tweeted back in kind, cribbing 1995's "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?"

Then, in a perfect encore, Kutcher called on another 1997 single, "That Don't Impress Me Much."

If this is how Kutcher typically apologizes to musicians, fingers crossed he offends Beyoncé sometime soon.

Restrictive Abortion Law In Indiana Prompts Unusual Protest

The phone lines at the office of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence are ringing off the hook, Fusion reports. Ever since Gov. Pence signed House Bill 1337 on March 25, a campaign called Periods for Pence has urged women around the Hoosier State to protest in an unusual way.

This bill institutes new regulations on abortion in Indiana, including banning abortion because of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex of the fetus, or because of "a diagnosis or potential diagnosis of the fetus having Down syndrome or any other disability." The bill deems them civil rights violations; mandating that patients must be briefed on the potential health consequences of the procedure in a private setting in order to grant informed consent; that the fetal sex, diagnosis code, and mother's name must be recorded on a pregnancy termination form; that patients must be given an opportunity to see a fetal ultrasound and listen to the fetal heartbeat at least 18 hours before the procedure; that attending physicians must have hospital-admitting privileges, which must be renewed every year; and that all miscarried or aborted fetuses must be buried or cremated, and the final remains must stay with the burial or cremation provider.

Pence called the bill a "comprehensive pro-life measure that affirms the value of all human life" and added, "[by] enacting this legislation, we take an important step in protecting the unborn, while still providing an exception for the life of the mother."

Many women in Indiana disagree — and they're protesting by going public about their periods. Since Gov. Pence is thatinterested in their uteri, the movement Periods for Peace believes he must also want to be informed about monthly flows.

“I need to get a message to the governor that I am on day three of my period,” one caller's voicemail began. “My flow seems abnormally heavy, but my cramps are much better.”

Started by an anonymous woman, the campaign is organized around the Periods for Pence Facebook page.

(After being transferred directly to Katie's voicemail)Me: "Hello, this is Sue Magina again. I just hit a pothole on...

Posted by Periods for Pence on Friday, April 1, 2016

Since phone lines have been exceptionally busy, some Periods for Pence supporters are flooding the governor's inbox, instead.

"I just wanted to let the Governor know that my uterus is currently expelling its contents," one woman quoted from an email she had sent on the Periods for Pence Facebook page. "While I am fairly sure that no clump of cells that could potentially be life were involved, I understand that he is seriously concerned about the reproductive health of every woman in this state."

Another uterine status update vividly stated, "Day three feels like a fat man having a fiesta in my half-Mexican uterus. He's really living it up."

Most recently, the campaign set up a Periods for Pence Twitter account for folks who want to follow the campaign in real time.

The realities of the legislation's potential impact is no laughing matter. The Washington Postreports that a doctor could be charged with wrongful death if he or she grants an abortion to a woman with a pregnancy complication, for instance.

“[House Bill 1337] will require a woman, during one of the most devastating times in her life after learning of a fetal anomaly, to prolong her pregnancy even if against her wishes, and to potentially assume the greater health risks associated with doing so,” Indianapolis Ob/Gyn Brownsyne Tucker-Edmonds told The Washington Post.

Those requirements might also compel women to hide information from their physicians in order to avoid having to make such difficult decisions, Hal Lawrence, chief executive of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, told The Post in explaining the group's opposition to the bill.

So far, Indiana and North Dakota are the only two states that have enacted the controversial ban. Planned Parenthood in Indiana and the American Civil Liberties Union plan to take the contentious bill to court, the Associated Press reports.

In the meantime, Periods for Pence will keep on dialing. In an interview with WRTV, Indianapolis' ABC News affiliate, the anonymous campaign founder said, "The more I read this bill, the more vague language I found and the more loopholes, and it just seemed incredibly intrusive. So I wanted to give a voice for women who really didn’t feel like they were given any kind of input into a bill that would affect our life so much."

Judging by the media attention the collective voices and mounting social media presence are receiving, it might prove harder for the Indiana government to hang up on women's reproductive rights and long-term health.

Meet The Millennial Women Shaping Politics

Update: From the moment we walk through the doors at school to the moment we finish, the structures and systems behind our education are shaping us — for better or worse. The women you’ll meet today are doing their best to ensure that those systems are doing all they can for their students. For one, that means better funding for public education at the state level, providing more support to the children of Mississippi, which is ranked last in the nation for education. For two more, it means making sure that those who want to pursue college don’t have to sacrifice their hopes and dreams after graduation in order to pay for it. Click through to meet the three amazing women of this 10th installment of Fusion’s “30 Under 30.”

This story was originally published on January 28, 2016.

The 2016 election feels like the official Election of the Millennial Generation. And it’s not just because certain politicians are working hard to attract young voters.

Young people — and particularly young women — are involved not just in supporting candidates with their votes, they're actually key players behind the scenes. Fusion is bringing these influencers center stage, with a new, all-women, all-political “30 Under 30” video list.

In the site's rundown of the project, Rebekah Dryden, the director of elections coverage, discusses the importance of not limiting the pool to those working within the political machine.

“We didn’t want to limit our roster to campaign staffers and Washington types. Those people are hugely important, of course. But there are other people in the game, too. People working in outside groups — or even getting elected themselves. And, of course, there are incredibly influential people working entirely outside the system. For example, the #BlackLivesMatter movement has unquestionably pushed the Democratic candidates for president to address social justice and policing in ways that they simply weren’t before.”
